Oatmeal Cookies
Perfectly chewy oatmeal cookies with a balance of sweetness and texture.
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoonssalt
- 1 tbspbutter
- 1 cupsugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream butter and both white and brown sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Fold in oats and any add-ins like raisins, nuts, or chocolate chips if desired.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
